My friend recently had the gastric bypass and she is excited because she lost 32 lbs in 1 month. She is already off of her diabetes meds and her blood pressure is down to normal. I don't have diabetes nor any blood pressure issues. I wanted to hire a personal trainer, but both she and my doctor suggested surgery. Anyone here have any experiences that they would be willing to share? thanks |

Haven't had it myself. Don't need to lose that much so do it the old-fashioned way. I'm definitely a believer that surgery is the LAST resort though. A friend of my sister's had the surgery and ended up having a heartattack a year later. She died and was only in her 30s. The doctors said even though it was a year later that it was a complication of the surgery.
