Severe Weather Check-In

Ok, it's severe weather months. How have you all faired?

We had tornadoes hit about 25 miles north of us on Thursday night (in Lexington, KY). About 150 houses were totally destroyed.

And they are expecting more severe weather over the rest of the weekend, with more tornadoes likely.

And the evening news just ended with reports of funnel clouds throughout the Kansas City area ... any of you all affected?

Stay safe!

-Beth

We've got a big tornadic storms just northeast of Oklahoma City that's headed our general direction over the next few hours. Looks like a bumpy night for a lot of folks in OK, KS, and MO.

There were 91 tornadoes reported yesterday and over night in the mid-west, how about a check in of everyone out that way so we know you're all alright?

It's been raining like cats and dogs most of last night and today in Wisconsin, we're expecting more storms with high winds and hail later in the day ~ I can hardly wait! Ugh!

My kids are camping (in a trailer) with my Dad, unfortunately I can't get ahold of him, but I know if it gets bad, or looks bad, he'll come home. I wish we could get out of this pattern, we received between 6-9" of rain last weekend, there is nowhere for all this water to go, I feel sorry for the poor farmers, all they can do is sit back and watch their crops drown!

Bad night here in KY!

I've got a big whopping 24 k connection right now because of downed lines, bad weather, etc.

Tornadoes popping up all over our area. Severe weather sirens went off 3 times in about an hour and a half (which btw, is very loud at our house since the siren is just one street over!). Most of it has passed now. Poor people east of us though have gotten hit by about five different cells of storms, one after another (they've all just picked a path over the same area!). For us, they're expecting another wave to hit overnight. Flooding is real bad right now, too.

We were actually up in Lexington eating out and doing some shopping and didnt' know what was going on until we stopped at the grocery store and they told us it was essentially closed. Everyone had been taken to the tornado shelters in the back of the store. So we turned right around and headed home (which was luckily away from the storms)! But we drove through some seriously dark and very ominous clouds!

Please stay safe everyone!

Wow Beth that sounds scarey. Glad you're safe. We're due for some severe weather tomorrow, but I doubt it will be nearly as bad as everyone else has had it, the hills and mountains usually break them up, at least I'm hoping they'll do that this time too.
