Need help with computer virus!

Hello,

the other day our AVG virus scan found three trogan horse viruses, two of them were able to be deleted but the third cant be deleted. How do i get rid of it??

we have no idea how we got it since we dont open attatchments from people we dont know and havent downloaded any music in a LONG time.

I tried to go directly to the file and delete it directly but it said access denied??

its in a C: drive in a program files. the trojan horse is called Trojan Horse Downloader.Keenval.D and its in our program files/common files.

Does anyone know what damage its doing or how i can get rid of it?? a box keeps coming up saying AVG detected this trojan horse. ugh! any info would be great! Thanks. Tanya

Try this URL for some advice...

First step in there -- are your AVG definitions up to date?

Here's some info that may be pertinent from McAfee.

Also try steps 3 and 5 from this from Norton in the removal instructions section:

If you know the name of the virus, just type it into the google search and it'll probably come up with a sloution to your problem. I've done it before and some very intricate details need to be followed to remove viruses. Make sure you print a copy of the directions and read through them before attempting any changes. If any of it is foreign to you - it may be best to take your computer to a specialist to clean up.
