Searching Forums Question

I was trying to search for a post that lists amazon's customer service number and I couldn't find it. But the thing is that I've performed that same search before the forums were changed over and it worked perfectly. So I was wondering if we lost some of the posts in the new forum update. Is that possible? Not that they don't exist anymore, but maybe they aren't in the searchable database?

Any ideas?

I don't know the answer to that but I believe their phone number is 800-201-7575

Thanks Sue.

Did you just have the number written down or did you search for it?
Just curious.

Thanks!
Beth

Two possibilities here... at one point in the past, at least a number of months ago, we had to prune some of the oldest messages out to fix a performance problem we were having with the forums.

Its also possible that theres a search problem. I will look into the second possibility.

Ok, I found the problem and fixed it. Something with the upgrade broke the search, and I had to rebuild the search index. Try searching for the keywords amazon phone and you'll get plenty of results now.

Beth, I had it written down from an order I had a problem with a while back. Something arrived broken and they were very nice about it, sent a new one out right away.

I probably should write the number down in my address book. Would save some hassle trying to find it. But it's near impossible to find on their site (Actually, I never have found it there! I've always been able to find it here much quicker. ) I was having trouble with the promo codes for the toy deals, but I think I'm just gonna go on up to our local store later this week. I'll get the toys sooner than if I waited for 'em to ship.

Thanks for the help Sue!
