Lady Bugs

Is anyone else being overrun with lady bugs or is that just a local thing? Boy you can't even go into the yard without getting them in your hair, your mouth, everywhere. I prefer them though to the ugly fly type bug that hatched last week, not sure what they were as I've never seen one before but they were everywhere. I guess the sudden warm spell we're having is confusing them.

Yes we have them here in MN too! they are gross! this year besides the lady bugs we have box elder bugs, yuck! both are disgusting! at least for the box elder bugs we can spray them with 30% dish soap and 70% water and they will die, but no such luck with the lady bugs. then we jsut rinse them off with a hose. its suppose to cool off again here, so hopefully they will be gone soon!

We've got tons of them here too! I heard on the news this morning that they are moving into our homes to hibernate for the winter, and that they BITE! I thought that had to be wrong until I got bit by one this afternoon! They are mean little "lady" bugs!

I've finally figured out why I have to have a ladybug round up every darn night. It's revenge. When I was a kid and we'd catch a ladybug, we'd say "Ladybug ladybug fly away home, your house is on fire and your children are alone" then we'd set it free. Well I guess over the years the ladybug got really mad at me because now since her house burned down, she's moved not only her children who were alone but her whole relation into MY house!
