Our good friends....daughter, hubby and 3 kids live in Richmond, Va, but I haven't talked to her to see what kind of preperations, if any, they're making.
Stay safe everyone!

My baby sister lives in Norfolk, VA. I talked to her around 11:30 AM and their winds were up to 45 mph at that time with rain. She still had power and cable. They were expecting to get the brunt of Isabel around now.
Everyone take care out there!

Mel, what part of Pa do they live in? They closed alot of schools but none close to me, yet. My grandsons school did send a note home to listen to the tv or radio for school closings or cancellations but so far they still have school. We are in a high wind advisory and a flood watch, it's been raining lightly since about 3pm. I heard in south eastern PA they've had some trees come down already, down close to the border. But I'm on the south western side, so far it's not bad here. We'll see what happens, they say after midnight and tomorrow we should see some real strong winds and heavy rains.

They are right in the center of Pennsylvania. Hopefully the tropical storm will just suddenly go East until it is off land and leave everyone alone.
It is crazy watching the reporters and even worse seeing people trying to swim behind them. I heard that they told the surfers that if they insisted on staying out there to right their names on their arms with marker for identification. *brrrr* (Still wondering if marker would resist ocean water at 100+mph, though, heh.) |

Well once again (thankfully) our weathermen were wrong. They seem to be wrong more than they are right. But this time I'm glad. We had a steady light rain over night but no wind to speak of. No damage, no flooding.

Hi all-
I live in NC, and we had a lot of very, very strong winds. We have a tree down in our back yard, and our neighbors across the street have a 100+ year old tree lying in their front yard. Thankfully no houses or cars were hit. We had on and off power outages throughout the day and evening. My sister flew in to see me yesterday morning right before the hurricane hit. Whew!! It was noisy, and in a very strange way exciting, and mesmorizing to watch. I'm sure if I lived on the coast I would not feel that way.
