Thumbs up Lasik - Laser eye surgery

WOOHOO! I had this done today and I am so happy that I did, so far. I can see about as well as I could with my glasses on with a slight milky haze that should go away in a day or two. My night vision is really good and I am experiencing no pain. The surgery was not painful in any way, took only a few seconds and I can SEE!

I just wanted to let everyone know that might have been wondering what this type of procedure is like how it went and the results after a few hours. I'd be happy to give my 'story' if anyone needs it.

I was very worried about complications or problems but so far it seems like smooth sailing and I am not regretting it a bit!

congrats maggie!!

i had lasik surgery 2 years ago--and i am SOOOO loving the results! (i've worn thick glasses since the 2nd grade)

one suggestion i have for you is--be very vigilant about your eyedrops.. make sure they're well lubricated!

Day 2 checkup, I'm seeing 20/25. Not too shabby. It's supposed to get better and I'm healing nicely.

No pain, no irritation, no dryness.

Congrats, Maggie and thanks for the updates. And thanks Kim for your info as well.

My hubby is thinking of getting lasik surgery but he thinks it will hurt......so these are two more testimonials I can share with him.

There is no pain whatsoever. I couldn't feel a thing during the procedure. I was given numbing drops and a Valium.

Even in recovery I've not had any pain, grittiness dryness, teary-ness or anything else they list in their possible side effects.

Tell him to not be afraid! I think my husband is going to do it when we come back from the conference later this month.

Maggie,

Where did you have your eyes done? My Hubby had his done about a year and a half ago at TLC and I am hoping to get mine done early next year.

I used Triad Eye Laser Center at 63rd and Memorial. They have the brand new machine with the eye tracking system. I guess it's the only one in the state. It tracks where your eye is 600 times a second so it makes a perfect procedure as possible.

I had Lasik surgery done almost 6 yrs ago. I had great results and so have my Mom and 2 of her sisters. I may have a touch up done in a few years since my right eye has never been as good as my left.

Congrats on your new lifestyle Maggie! It's such a treat to wake up and actually see the time on the clock, see if it's raining outside, read the labels in the shower on the shampoo/conditioner bottles, see under water...I could go on and on!

I had it done over 6 years ago and it is still great...I have 20/20 in one eye and 20/15 in the other. If my vision ever changed I would have it done again in a heartbeat...it didn't hurt and I LOVE not having glasses....I spent about 400-500 a year on glasses so I have saved over 3000 in glasses

I had LASIK done about a year and a half ago. I LOVE IT!!! I wore glasses since I was 9, and lost the ability to wear contacts in my late 20's.

If anyone in Arizona is considering LASIK, I went to Barnett Dulaney Perkins and recommend them extremely highly.

I never had any pain or grittiness either.

Congrats Maggie!

Thanks to all - I suggested that my hubby read this thread and he is greatly encouraged. He did have a question......how long after the procedure can you drive? He owns a towing company and that is agreat concern of his. Thanks again!

I had my surgery at 5pm and drove myself to my next day checkup at 8:40 the next morning with no problems and 20/25 vision. I COULD have driven later that evening if I had needed to.
