Where is everyone?

I guess the nice weather has everyone away from their computers. This forum has been dead for days. So here I am, sitting on my porch with my laptop finding codes and enjoying the sunshine. How is the weather where you are at and what have you been doing lately? I spent the weekend (working of course, LOL, always looking for new codes for you) and watching the news on the war. But it's getting to much and I decided to take a break from the tv and go out side and enjoy some sunshine and peace and quiet. I just saw a squirrel in the yard looking for his peanuts he burried in the fall. Sorry to tell him he burried them in my planter boxes so he'll have to wait til we get around the bringing them back outside. Silly squirrel. We used to feed them, BUT they actually started coming up on my porch and scratching on the door like they were knocking I was afraid they'd get in the house so I stopped feeding them. That's all we'd need is a squirrel in the house fighting with our two cats. LOL

I've been riveted to the tv too. Watching all the war news. But now it's time to shop so I think I'll see what deals you've got posted. My credit card is hungry.

It's finally getting nice in Wisconsin too, although I know it won't last long, LOL! I haven't watched too much coverage of the war, it's depressing and seems to get worse as time goes on. I really believe in this cause but hate the thought of people getting captured and killed.....

I did some shopping last week ~ JCPenney and Kohl's had SUPER sales last week and into the weekend, I really saved a bundle!

wonderful weather here!

It has been heaven on earth.

A few days ago, we saw a pair of Bald Eagles up close in the state park on the other side of town. They will be gone soon. The Robins have already left. I will tell you something that amuses me about Bald Eagles -- they "double dip" when it comes to the breeding season. They breed here in the winter, and I have to assume that they also breed wherever it is that they go in the north in the summer.

The male Ruby-Throated Hummingbirds are swarming north, and I've seen a number of them stop in my yard, so be ready to break out your feeders, folks. They're on their way up!

My Chickadees already have a nest but I can't tell if they have eggs in it because I don't want to poke around and bother them. They take turns sitting in the nestbox though, so they probably do have eggs.

I've been able to get a good bit of yard work done, but I never get as much done as I would like! Too many distractions!

Weather is turning nice. I'm so happy to have wireless internet now so I can go online while outside with the kids.

Honestly though, it's hard. Dh is military, though not deployed. I can tell things at work are stressful, but he can't tell me anything about it. He's glued to CNN when he's home so I can't really shut it off. On top of that, I have a cousin on a ship and the spouse of another cousin in boot camp right now. Needless to say, concentrating on anything is not at the top of my list right now.

well, the weather here WAS nice.. but now there are thunderstorms galore .

my hubby & i were househunting these past few days--and our offer on a house was just accepted! whoo hoo! we're going to be homeowners!! this is our first house.. and i am just freaking out!!! the biggest loan i've ever had was $28K (student loans) and now our mortgage is $107K!! yowzaaa!! the mind boggles.

but it beats watching cnn 24/7 (like snugglebug's hubby--my dh is also in the military)
snugglebug, where is your cousin going to boot camp at?

Congratulations on your new home! You will love it. I still live in the first house I bought -- been here over 12 years now. It is great to be able to be more creative with the painting, floor, etc. and especially the garden.

Debt on a house is not like other debt. You would be paying out every month anyway, for rent. Having a mortgage is actually a forced savings plan, because the money you pay for the house, increases the equity you have in the house. So take a deep breath -- you're doing the right thing, and it's well worth it!

My heart goes out to ya'll with family in the military. Let's hope it's over soon and everyone gets home safely.

I don't have cable, and it's times like this that I'm glad -- less disturbing images coming in the house. But, of course, when you have family involved, you have no choice but to keep a close eye on the situation.

He's in boot camp in San Antonio (I think that's AF). From there he goes to Wichita for 3 months and has no follow on orders from there yet.

I feel like I spend dh's days off shielding the kids from the tv.

Hi all. I have been busy at work and busy at home.....my brother-in-law and some friends are somewhere in Persian Gulf....as far as we know......no exact info at this point....so I have been watching the war coverage as much as we can without going insane.

Phew - God speed to this endeavour and as little bloodshed as possible - please - I pray this.

Weather is great here....low 70's and sun...... love it.

Hugs all!
