I personally didn't watch the show but I would have to say that it wasn't needed. To me those type of things don't make a "concert" or whatever the event any better and for safety reasons I hope laws are made banning such things.
Just my thoughts.

I saw the Grammy's and thought it was a great performance! The thought did not cross my mind! This is the first I have heard anyone talking about this.
It was a total tragedy what happened at the concert! But the grammy's have had the show planned for months I am sure. I believe that the did not purposely try to offend anyone. And like I said, when watching Nelle it did not cross my mind about the fire. My opinion is that these days, everyone trys to read more into things than what is really there!!!!!! I would have to say I disagree as when 9-11 happened they pushed back openings to movies and TV shows that contained terroists acts and the same could have been done with the Grammy's, as the club fire was known all around as it made the news and they could have easily left that part out. It doesn't matter how much planning went into it it could have been an easy step to skip.
Just my two cents worth on the topic. |

I didn't think there was anything wrong with the performance. Unless you were personally or closely involved in the nightclub tragedy, I wouldn't think it would offend too deeply.
Sometimes there is just too much political correctness in the world. The nightclub fire was a terrible accident caused by conditions that were not favorable to pyrotechnics. I'm sure the Grammy's made sure to have the right materials and safeguards in place. One tragedy doesn't mean that we should all change the way we live. (Just as we shouldn't stop living our lives after 9/11.) |
