I'm snowbound, how about you?

This is about the first time our weathermen actually got it right and I wish they were wrong. We're due for up to 14 inches through tomorrow. Even some of the churches cancelled services here this morning. It's pretty, but I am dreading shoveling it all. I just cleaned off my porch, which has a roof over it, it was up past my ankles just from the blowing snow. I did it 10 minutes ago and it's already covered again.

Ohhh, Sue - I am sorry. We're far from snowbound - in the 70's and overcast. But the sun has come out - thank goodness - the Daytona 500 is running in about 15 minutes.

Go Dale Junior!

Stay warm and safe, Snowbunnies all!!

Can we all come down and visit you for a few days? I would love to have some 70 degree weather. I don't remember what that feels like. It has been one nasty winter in the north east this year.

Dh went out in his shorts and no shoes to measure it, we're at 6.5 inches so far. It's been coming down all day. I have a very short pup who's loving wading through the snow for a few minutes. Thankfully, he's black or he'd be lost for sure!! LOL

It started snowing here a few hours ago, we're expecting 12-20 inches! That's on top of the 6 already on the ground. I can't remember a winter as snowy as this one has been. I'm thankful tomorrow is a Holiday so I don't have to drive to work. The Daytona 500 is now in it's 2nd rain delay . . .

We had lots of rain over the past few days.....which we desperately needed. But of course, the washes (dry river beds that fill up when it rains, and flow like white water rapids......for those of you not familiar with the desert southwest) have been running, and there's always a dummy or two ready, willing and able to get himself caught in one.....they think they're just "puddles" in the road, then they drive in, and get their cars swept down river.........

It has cleared up today, it's just a little overcast and probably in the low 70's.

Talk to me in July, though, when you're all enjoying wonderful summertime activities, and we're melting away in 115 degree heat! And, no it's NOT a dry heat! We get the monsoon storms in July and August, so there's heat over 110 and humidity at 50% plus......icky!!!!!!

It hasn't stopped all day. The schools are canceling already. The snow plow hasn't been on my street in probably 4 hours so we can't go anywhere if we wanted to. It's also too cold (16) for the salt to even work and with having steep hills no matter which way you go, it is pretty nasty out there. Lots of accidents. And it isn't over yet! Won't be til some time tomorrow.

I read all this and guess what:

Well, they keep saying all of your area is covered with snow.

And...We've simply got weather in the teens with windchills below zero. No precipitation here in Michigan.

And...I'm leaving for Tampa and Orlando, Florida on Friday for five days... (Okay, I know I'm bragging.)

We're up to a foot now and getting sleet. Dh doesn't get off for weather, but I don't think he'll be able to make it in tomorrow night. Hopefully there's enough people on base or closer to base to cover the minimum needed for his section so he won't have to go in. They're saying all roads will not be cleared in Maryland until Wednesday.

Thumbs down

12"-20" plus in Ohio. Level 3 emergencies here all weekend. Roads are impassable...Emergency vehicles only!! If you drive you get a $100 fine. I have called in 2 days from work already(I havent missed work in 3 yrs). My back is killing me from all the shoveling!! .. Fortunately the back end of this blizzard is upon us and it's almost done. (Yes .. I dont care about the technical definitions.. we consider this a blizzard!!) We aren't used to or equipped for this much snow.

$100 isn't bad, there's a county here that is fining anyone on the roads $1,000 plus your car could be impounded.

It's pretty much done here. We might get another few inches. There's about 12 or so out there now. Except in my driveway where Mr. Snowplow burried us in about 3 feet of snow that's about 4 feet wide the whole length of our double wide driveway. We're at the end of the street and by the time he gets to our driveway he's pushing alot of snow and it always ends up IN our driveway so you know what I'll be doing today. YUCK! We do have a state of emergency, but we're still allowed to drive (IF you can get your car out) but it's not recommended.

Looking for a good deal for someone to come shovel my snow!

OMG! There is alot of snow out there and it is heavy! Dh has been out 3 times already, I was out once. And we are no where near done. It's up to my knees in alot of places. The snow plow hasn't been our on street since yesterday afternoon. So when he does I'm sure we'll have even more to shovel. Anyone want to come help? We've got two big driveways to do and lots of sidewalks. Wishing I would of gotten a good deal on a snow blower before today.
