Kathy,
My son is three and he has been playing with his regular leap pad since last christmas. He loves it. But he is more of the intellectual type. He has learned tons of states with the US map and loves playing the piano and other instruments. We also have an alphabet and phonics book that goes with it that he likes. If you son is on school I would thiink that you would want the regular one. I think he would be able to get more use out of it. I think that the my first leap pad is geared more to preschool age. Whereas the regular your son will be able to use the regular one now and it will grow with him. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your help as Aldi's (a discount food store here) has the regular Leap Pad for $48.99 with 3 books and I didn't want to purchse the My First Leap Pad if it wasn't going to be for his age. I have researched both but I wasn't able to decide....

My daughter has used her regular Leap Pad since she was about 3 1/2 years old. Now that she's 5, she's still using it, and really enjoying it. I would pass on the My First Leap Pad if I were you, and go with the regular. Especially with the deal your grocery store has! Nice!

Another vote for regular Leap Pad .
My son is 5 1/2 now. He has used his regular Leap Pad since he was about 3 1/2 years old. He still loves it a lot. Another good things about regular Leap Pad, you can add Quantum Pad books to your regular Leap Pad. http://leappad.com/products/prhm_index2.jhtml?id=900001 |
