Only 11 weekends left til Christmas!

Yikes, didn't realize it was coming up so fast. Did you? Guess we'd better get our Christmas shopping done. (or in my case, started!)

Unhappy Christmas......

That's the last thing I needed to here. I knew it was getting close because I realized the other day, that the Christmas club account will be deposited next month. I can't believe Oct. is almost half over already. I haven't even thought of what to shop for yet. Thanks for the reminder, even though It's not what I needed to hear.

Halo

Good for you AprilGail, how about starting mine for me now. LOL. I used to do all my shopping early. But this year I just am not ready. I can't believe summer is over already! My problem is trying to figure out WHAT to buy everyone. Finally decided to get my grandson a GameBoy advanced and some games to go along with it, maybe I'll do one of the battery deals and get him a ton of batteries for it to. He travels for a few hours to visit family and that will give him something to do on the long trips. Now to figure out what to get everyone else. I KNOW what I want, hehe, but have no clue about everyone else.

The traditional Christmas shopping season doesn't start until "Black Friday" the nickname given for the day after Thanksgiving when all the stores roll out their big early-morning sales. I know I'm outside Best Buy in the cold waiting in like at 5am every year..

BUT, the month of November has shifted this year and Black Friday isn't until Nov. 29th. With Thanksgiving coming so late in the month, the Christmas shopping season has been shortened by almost a week!

Since most online retailers really should ship gifts by around the 17th of December to assure a holiday delivery, that only gives holiday shoppers 19 days this year! That's only two and a half weeks.

I really think many online holiday shoppers are starting much sooner this year. There's nothing like the panic of waiting until the last minute!

Thanks for the info, Sue hun. Now I need to go lay down.

No really, I have done a wee bit of Christmas shopping BUT not enough to feel relaxed about it. Ha - I'll be out there too at 5 am too, Maggie. "Black Friday" - I love that!!

I guess I need to get my "Christmas" ducks in a line!!

SOON.

I've only gone out on Black Friday one time in my life. Don't know that I want to ever repeat it again. My feet are much happier when I shop online. LOL

I am so glad that I am not the only one that hasn't started Christmas shopping. I just can't get motivated to start but maybe now that the colder weather is moving in I can get on the ball.

I was out at the malls this past weekend, one on Saturday and one in Sunday. There are some AMAZING sales going on. I hadn't planned on doing Christmas shopping, but the prices were so great that it actually crossed my mind. However, it was so, so, sooooooooo crowded and since I had my toddler in tow, I just couldn't deal with it, ya know? I remember hearing how poorly the Gap was doing -- well you certainly wouldn't have thought that if you saw how crowded it was this past weekend. Aye - yie -yie! I really wanted to buy a pair of jeans, but again, just couldn't deal!!! I just can't buy a pair of jeans over the internet. Gotta see how the butt looks IRL.

I feel almost ashamed to admit I have most of mine done. It's because of this web site! There are some many deals I have picked up through the year- my spare bedroom closet is FULL!

I usually work on "Black Friday" so I get someone else to wait in the lines for me! Hee hee. Poor souls!

I applaud all of you that have your Christmases in the works or done. Bravo all of you!! I wish I was as organized!

And you guys here at DH have all taught me something great......that great deals do happen online. I look through the deals listed on here everyday and I think....."That would be an ex-cellent gift for XXXX or @@@@..." I have bought a few things already and am on the verge of buying more. SOOO - maybe I can do almost all of my Christmas shopping online and avoid the dreaded "Black Friday" syndrome. It's wonderful to get good deals and never have to step a toe in the store or fight traffic or crowds. The doorbell rings and the gifts arrive. Can't beat that!!

Thanks!

The past few years I've done most of my shopping online. Much easier than dragging two little ones through a crowded mall. This year I did really well at Target - I have an attic full of toys - all 75% off, enough for my kids, all the kids on our list and extras from Toys for Tots. Also picked up a Norelco razor for my father - 75% off at Target and a few things other things at Target (75% off, of course)

The rest I will try to finish online.
