On my new WinXP home computer, I am able to share the root of my HD (I realize the security risks, but I have a firewall [ZA] and don't have a dedicated I-net connection.) The drive is formatted as NTFS, and I can read most folders from other computers who can see the drive. However, certain folders, such as Windows and Program Files have "access denied" errors when I try to access them from other computers. I'm sure this has something to do with NTFS, because on another WinXP PC, I have FAT32 and there are no sharing problems. Does anyone have any idea how I can remedy this problem? I have looked at the sharing properties for each folder I and haven't seen a way, because Windows says it's a 'system folder' and properties can't be changed. I doesn't matter whether I access this drive from my other XP PC or one of two other Win98 clients.
TIA for any assistance.
