Question How much do you pay for a haircut?

Just wondering what the going rate is for a haircut? In Wisconsin I pay $20 just for a cut, and it's $17 to get my sons hair cut, hiway robbery, I'd claim, but what's a person to do?

We get my son's hair cut at a barber shop that has been in our community forever - the same guy that cuts my son's hair also cut my husbands when he was growing up. Ol' Rusty charges $9 for a kids cut (and my son always gets a time-consuming flat top!) and $10 for a men's cut. He does a great job - and the place is really a throw back in time. Now for me and my daughter, we pay $25-30 - they blow it out and style it for that price. We don't go to the most expensive salon, obviously. There is a place that has been in the mall for a long time - they have really great stylists - and you will see the same ones there every time you go - very low turnover! The guy that cuts our hair is really good - so it works for us! I used to work in a salon about 10 years ago (I handled product eduction and inventory for a large high-end salon). At that time, a cut alone was $25, cut/blow dry was $35. I can't imagine what they charge now!

I pay $12.95 for a cut at Supercuts. I think it's $4 more for a shampoo and $4-$5 more for a blowdry.

Only 5 years ago or so it was just $8.95.

the local barber in town just raised his price from $7 to $8. He's been there forever, but he gets tons of business since we have a college, a seminary, a retirement center, and a veterans hospital all in our little town. You have to be careful when you go because he really wants to give you your money's worth and you'll lose a lot of hair by the time he's done! That's where hubby goes.

Great clips is only $10 for me. Sometimes I'll go to a lady in town where it's $13 and includes the shampoo, cut, and blow dry.

I pay $30 at the salon where I've gone for 19 years. I cut my hubby's hair and my oldest daughter's hair (only trim the ends, no haircuts for her). For my son, it's $15 with the salon I use. Those prices include the tip.

Got one today, $8.99 after coupon @ BoRics (I believe it's a national chain.) Okay, I'm a male and don't need anything weird (okay, maybe that's not the right adjective) done to my hair. Normal price is $9.99, and it used to be normally $8.99 but the raised it about two years ago. Okay, it's not a professional barber but it looks nice...

I pay $23 at a salon for shampoo, cut and style. I cut my hubby's hair and occasionally my daughter's too. Last time I took my daughter to get her haircut it was $8.95 for a spray down and cut.

if you want an inexpensive hair cut (I would not recommend this for a new style) you can go to a beauty-academy. They only charge you for the materials they used, approx $5-8 and they do a very decent job with just trimming etc. I have never tried them for a new style. These are students under the expert eye of their instructor. They take a long time with you and you feel like a person not a number
