Campbell's Soup Recall

Campbell Soup Recall

The Campbell Soup Company has voluntarily recalled certain cans of "Ready to Serve 18.7 ounce Classic Tomato Soup" because they contain milk and soy protein, but these ingredients are not listed on the cans' labels. All of the affected cans are stamped with the date code NOV2002 11211 CT KSYT. If this soup is consumed by anyone with an allergy to milk or soy proteins, he or she may have an allergic reaction. If you have any cans with the above code, return it to the store of purchase for a full refund. For more information, visit Campbell's Web site using the link below or call the company's consumer hotline at 1-800-637-7698.

It looks like this doesn't mean that it isn't safe to eat. The warning is really for only those with milk/soy allergies.

I love tomato soup! I boil it with meatballs and potatoes and it makes a fabulous stew-ish meal.

I agree it probably is safe to eat if you don't have those allergies. But for those that do have food allergies, they learn to read labels carefully, and this could be an important omission.

Anyhow, I saw the web-site and posted the info here... just in case. If one person sees it, it's worth it.
