Question What's your favorite music band?

I'm listening to a Lifehouse CD right now and it's probably 6-7 songs into it and I haven't heard one yet that I didn't like!

I really like Matchbox 20 too.

That Lifehouse CD is really good...I've had it since it came out and for a while, it was the only CD I played (over and over and over... )

I'm partial to Everclear, U2, Natalie Merchant, Train, etc.
I listen to a pretty diverse range of music. In my car, I have classical music and traditional jazz/swing music. There's not too much I won't listen to. Except country...not my favorite. Of course, my hubby and daughter ONLY listen to country...so I'm know more about it than I care to admit!

My favorite is a band called Five Iron Frenzy. It's a Christian pop style of ska. I like *lots* of various stuff ... everything from bluegrass to swing to pop to rap to rock ... etc (but not too big on country or classical). Also really like P.O.D. I also like U2. (I really do like a huge variety of stuff!)

I also *love* the Lifehouse cd and hope that they come out with a new one soon! Just food for thought, listen to the lyrics closely and then re-evaluate whether you think they are about girls and relationships or not.

If I could understand the words, I'd listen more closely. What do you think it's about?

Outstanding band! (Lifehouse)

I dont really have a favorite these days with so many good Alternative bands out there these days but.. two of my favorite CD's

1. Vertical Horizon's last CD (Totally kicks ass! Every single sing is great if you ask me!)
(VERTICAL HORIZON is one of the best new bands ive heard in the last 4-5 yrs)

2. Sugar Rays's last CD

As a high schooler is nuttin but Heavy Metal for me which.. once in a while.. will bust out the Ol Iron Maiden, or Judas Priest CD! lol

Right now im listening to the Humpty Dance from Digital Underground.. remember that one a few years ago?

My taste changes alot but right now.. Alternative it is!!

(For the record, Aerosmith, Bill Joel, still big fan.. mentioned above)

re: Lifehouse lyrics

Although the band admits that the lyrics to their songs can be interpreted many different ways, there is a deeper meaning than what's on the surface. Some people might just hear the boy/girl relationship stuff, but there's also a lot in their songs about spiritual searching. Try listening to "hanging by a moment" and think about as if it were a praise song to God. Makes a bit more sense than if it were just about a girl. But, like the band said, you can interpret the songs lots of different ways!

a good fan site with the lyrics ... www.lifehousefans.com

p.s. i noticed that lifehouse is gonna be a paramount kings island (just north of cincinatti and about two and a half hours from me) while we're scheduled to have vacation time! maybe we can actually go see them in concert! woohoo! *fingers crossed*

I absolutely love Barenaked Ladies. I'm currently on a kick of listening to Great Big Sea who I will see in concert this weekend.

Vertical Horizon is great, I saw them live this summer (they were touring with BNL). I listen to Train, MB20, U2, Billy Joel and Alanis Morisette on a regular basis, but BNL is my favorite by far.

Talking Bring Back The BIG BANDS

I know that I'm an old person, but does anyone remember the Big Band Era? Les Brown, and his band of reknown, Artie Shaw, Ted Heath, (from England) Count Basie' "April in Paris. Years ago I played with the Jhonny Long band (Blue Skies & Shanty in old Shanty Town) I really miss all of those bands. Ireally never did get into R&R etc. because it sounded like the same thing over and over. I sold my set of drums years ago, now I wish I didn't.
